What is the Hollywood Peel?
The Hollywood Peel, also known as the "Hollywood Carbon Peel" or "Hollywood Laser Peel", is a procedure that combines laser with an activated charcoal mask. It is sought after for its immediate radiance-boosting effects, prepping the skin for special events, parties or trips.
It is a non-invasive, painless procedure, ideal for almost every skin type, with the exception of a few specific cases such as pregnant women or other particular conditions.
Sessions last on average 45 to 60 minutes and are performed every two to three weeks. The treatment causes no peeling or swelling, so no downtime is required.
How does it work?
The activated charcoal mask is applied evenly across the face and helps to remove impurities from inside the pores. Because of its black colour, it acts as a photo-intensifier, amplifying the photothermal and photoacoustic effects of the laser.
The laser operates in two modes: the first heats the skin and stimulates collagen production, while the second removes the mask along with the impurities and dead skin cells.
On top of exfoliating and adding radiance, the procedure can also even out skin tone, reduce wrinkles and tighten pores. The result is more radiant skin and a velvety texture.
What are the benefits?
- Smoother, brighter, more hydrated and more youthful-looking skin
- Reduction of fine lines, scars and dark spots
- Reduced appearance of pores
- Reduced oiliness
- Acne relief
These benefits are made possible by the properties of the charcoal mask and the collagen stimulation produced by the laser.
A single session helps to bring radiance and glow to the face and to improve skin texture. To reduce fine lines, dark spots and acne, a more complete course of about 3 to 6 sessions is recommended.
